PRIVACY POLICY

1. Overview

Sappy is a social mood check-in app. This policy explains what information Sappy collects, why it is used, what other users may see, and how you can control or delete your account.

2. Information We Collect

• Account data, including Firebase user ID, email address when provided by your sign-in method, username, display name, and authentication provider.
• Profile and app state, including selected country, current mood, Ghost Mode state, friend visibility preference, and onboarding state.
• Social data, including friend requests, friendships, blocked users, reports, notification records, and nudge rate-limit state.
• Device and operations data, including push notification tokens, app interaction data, diagnostics, crash data, and security logs.

Sappy does not request precise GPS location. Country is used to provide country-level aggregate mood statistics.

3. How We Use Information

We use this information to sign you in, run onboarding, record check-ins, update global and country aggregate metrics, show friend and public profile features, send requested notifications, enforce limits, prevent abuse, process reports, debug crashes, maintain security, and support account deletion.

4. What Other Users Can See

Authenticated users may see public profile fields such as username, display name, and selected country. They may see your current mood only when Ghost Mode is off. Friends may see friend and visible-circle context according to the app's privacy rules. Ghost Mode hides your current mood and friend list.

5. Service Providers

Sappy uses Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, databases, Cloud Functions, push token handling, analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, hosting, and security operations. Sappy may also use Apple services for Apple sign-in and push notification delivery.

6. No Sale, Ads, or Cross-App Tracking

We do not sell personal data. We do not use Sappy mood data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

7. Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account inside the app. Account deletion removes the account, private profile, public profile, username reservation, current aggregate vote contribution, and friendship edges handled by the deletion service. Some logs, backups, security records, or legal records may remain for a limited period when required for security, fraud prevention, operations, or legal obligations.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict processing of your personal data. You can delete your account in the app or contact info@neuval.be for privacy requests. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Children

Sappy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used Sappy, contact us so the account can be reviewed and deleted if appropriate.
