Sappy FAQ
Answers about Sappy mood check-ins, friend features, privacy controls, and the public web companion.
What is Sappy?
Sappy is a daily social mood app where people check in as happy or sad, see live aggregate mood signals, and stay close to friends through Circle notes and nudges.
Is Sappy available on the App Store?
Sappy is coming soon on the App Store. Existing test users can sign in on the web companion, but new accounts are created through the iOS app.
How does the daily mood check-in work?
A user chooses happy or sad for the day. The active mood is temporary and contributes to live aggregate signals until it expires or changes.
Can friends see my mood?
Friends may see your current mood when it is visible. Ghost Mode hides your current mood from friends while still allowing your check-in to count in anonymous aggregate totals.
What is Ghost Mode?
Ghost Mode is a privacy setting that hides your visible mood and friend list from other users while preserving aggregate mood counts.
What is Circle?
Circle is the friend space where people can share a short mood note and see relevant updates from the people they have accepted as friends.
What are nudges?
Nudges are lightweight friend interactions that help someone know you are thinking of them. Sappy limits nudges to reduce spam and abuse.
Does Sappy use my precise location?
No. Sappy does not request precise GPS location. Country is used for country-level aggregate mood statistics.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Account deletion is available in the app and removes the account, profile records, friendship edges, and active aggregate vote contribution handled by the deletion service.
Is Sappy medical or mental-health advice?
No. Sappy is not a medical device, therapy tool, crisis service, diagnostic tool, or mental-health treatment.
How do Sappy profile links work?
A profile link such as sappy.app/u/username opens a public invite preview so someone can find the right person and continue in Sappy.
